St Mary’s University is a modern, friendly and welcoming university situated in the leafy borough of Richmond upon Thames and just a short train journey away from the hustle and bustle of central London. With a close-knit community of students, you’ll quickly feel at home, whilst still being offered all the challenges and excitement of a rewarding student experience.

They have been building a reputation of excellence in education since being established in 1850 and, whilst being centred by key Catholic values of fairness, respect and generosity, we are of course welcoming to students of all faiths and none. For many overseas students, studying in the UK is an ambition, but it can be quite difficult to fulfil the dream. Universities have strict admissions criteria; they demand advanced English skills; and have high expectations from their applicants. Happily, pathway programmes such as SMULIC’s can provide an accessible and affordable solution. SMULIC immerses you in St Mary’s campus and academic life, as well as the English language and UK culture. Your time at SMULIC will fast-track you on your academic pathway to degree success.

to the wider St Mary's community, Benedict XVI House is a lay community just across the road from

          the University on Waldegrave Gardens.

       Private Sector Accommodation

Students may also opt for private sector accommodation in the local area. There are excellent transport

St Mary's Accommodation Service works very closely with a number of local student accommodation

providers and give advice and support to international students looking for off-campus housing.

International students living in private sector accommodation may find that they need to provide their
